Lai Foong Beef Noodles ,KL

A prominent landmark in the heart of Kuala Lumpur , this 56 years old kopitiam along Jalan Tun HS Lee bring you back down memory lane. The heart of this coffee shop lies in the beef noodle, which started in 1956 , now handles by its 2nd generation.

The man behind the beef noodles Thomas reveals that the recipe is based on a 80 year old recipe handed down from his grandfather Chou Jou , a Hainanese immigrant from China. His younger brother Daniel , who happens to be my friend, mans the coffee shop counter.

The sup is clear yet flavourful with salted chinese mustard ( ham choy ). Coupled with the tangy chili sauce its a match made in heaven, leaving you asking for more. In it is the yummy beef balls, tripe, offals and tendons all swimming among the noodle of choice, Lai Fun.
